From a post entitled “Another ‘Brave’ Ambush on Authority“, Joe Noory sums up his poignant observations with:

Just to reiterate: in the world view of the caring, loving, lefties of the Netherlands, buggery, an abuse of animals for non-concentual personal jollies for no productive reason is completly legal, but shining a light in the eyes of military prisoners with information that can save lives isn’t.

While I think I understand the point Mr. Noory is trying to make, morally speaking, I find the “abuse of animals” and “torture of humans” comparison rather idiotic.  While the torture techniques used by the Dutch Intelligence service seem rather weak, they still practice the technique on humans, and humans are far more valuable than animals.

My rather callous and somewhat libertarian point of view on animals gets me into hot water at any forum at which I voice my opinion, but in a nutshell, it is: “If we can kill and eat animals, I see nothing wrong with fucking them, as long as they’re your animals.”  That means no buggering the neighbor’s cat, but if it’s your cat, it’s your property, so whatever floats your boat.

Don’t misconstrue my philosophy as actions I condone or practice, people.  I don’t know how someone sees pleasure in a cow’s ass or dog’s pecker, but such proclivities are not harmful to me or to any other person, so it shouldn’t be our concern.  You may look upon someone who does it with disgust, but that’s just a personal opinion.  Other people might not like the way you do your wife doggy style, but it doesn’t give them the right to tell you to stop or put you in jail for it.  It’s none of their business.  Just as it’s none of your business if someone bangs their animals.

Okay, so equating human torture — no matter how inconsequential — with animal buggery makes me wonder how far this person’s morals will allow them to go.  If zoo nookie is so repulsive to this person that mind-fucking the enemy is not a big deal, how far does the torture gauge have to rise to meet or exceed the level of beastiality?

What I’m really complaining about here is not the torture itself, because I think it was light and this shit is supposed to be done to your enemy, but the comparison of a libertarian-esque law to torture.  Either find a better analogy, or sum up your article with something stronger.
