So the old man has a wild hair across his ass about this new Dan Akroyd vodka, Crystal Head Vodka. He goes online, looks around, at first doesn’t find it, figures it’s a stunt. Later, he goes back and looks, finds people selling it, but everyone’s out of stock. He still thinks it’s a stunt.

The first time he mentioned it, I went online, found Hi-Time Wine Cellars selling it, and purchased a bottle. While he’s ranting, I’m chillin’, knowing a bottle will be coming soon. It’ll make a nice birthday present, and with Halloween so close, it’ll be a double good present.

Smug in my abilities, I think nothing of it.

Next day I get an email from them saying they can’t ship ground, they have to ship DHL 2-Day Air. Twenty two bucks. Grr. Well fine, I can’t have my smug superiority shot down by some shipping charges. Accepted.

Later that day, I get another email saying they’re out of stock. [FUCK!] Would I like to hold my order and they’ll send it in a few weeks when they get restocked?

*Shit Shit Shit* So I ask if I can get a discount if I wait. Nope.

*Sonofa…* Okay, I email back saying if I can’t have it by mid November, then cancel the order because I may have to go to ebay and pay about 3 times as much or get lucky and find someone else who gets an earlier shipment and can send it to me on time and at a price that isn’t extortionate. For the reply to this either/or question, I get an actual person email, not simply the customer service email.

Alan says they’ll get some Nov. 4, and it will arrive on time, so I’m a happy camper. Annnnnd scene… WAIT!

I get a call today from Holly who tells me they have two bottle left from their promotion, and is it okay if they send it out Monday and I can get it by Wednesday. Okay? Hell yes it’s okay.

So now I’m expecting the Crystal Head Vodka on Wednesday, and I should be able to get the Birthday/Halloween present big-ups while acting all smug and douche-like. And pops don’t know a thing, yo.

So for going to the trouble of calling me and telling me they have extra and are willing to ship it next week, I’m giving Hi-Time Wine Cellars a thumbs up.
