I will admit that I don’t think this is Rod Stewart’s best song, BUT it did make him a cultural icon, and for that it deserves a listen. Defending the merits of the song would leave me an empty husk of a man, so I’ll leave it as a cultural must-hear and quietly exit (stage left) with my soul intact. :>

Was this his worse song? No I think Love Touch was probably his worst song. Is it bad? Yes, but I do have a soft place in my heart for this song. Why? It encapsulates one of my brother’s embarassing moments.
