Froch defeats Dirrell by questionable decision – Boxing Results
Casino/SHOWTME – By Scott Gilfoid: In one of the worst scored and worst refereed bouts I’ve ever seen in my life, WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch defeated American Andre Dirrell by a questionable 12 round split decision tonight in Froch’s home town of Nottingham, England. I say questionable because I had the fight scored nine rounds to three for Dirrell and I think Froch should have been penalized multiple times for punching to the back of Dirrell’s head, throwing elbows and for slamming him to the canvas.
I counted over 10 occasions where Froch should have been deducted points – or at the minimum – given a warning by the referee. However, as some people say, it’s not easy to fight in England when you’re a foreign fighter. Judging by the internet forums, I’m not the only one that feels that Dirrell was given a bum decision by the judges. The final judges’ scores were 115-112, 115-112 for Froch and 114-113 for Dirrell.

I just watched this fight on the DVR, and it was a horribly officiated fight, and the judges were clearly bought and paid for since they gave it to Froch. Dirrell was no angel, that’s for sure, but he won that fight.
