While I Like Jalopnik…

… I don’t care for some of the wording they use in some of their articles.  This one starts out with:

Times are tough in Gaza. So tough, in fact, that the Middle Eastern
region’s residents, starved for petrol as a result of Israeli
sanctions
, have turned to running their cars on pressurized cooking
gas
, according to a report today in the Toronto Star.

Times are hardly tough if the residents of Gaza can boycott Israeli fuel shipments.  Further, Israel shouldn’t be giving ANY fuel to Gaza because Gaza is attacking Israel with missiles on a daily basis.  I dare say that if Rhode Island was lobbing missiles into Massachusetts, the residents of MA (even Cambridge) wouldn’t be NEARLY as understanding with RI as Israel has been with Gaza.

Air Car Gooooood!

Compressed Air Car On Track For Production This Year

The vehicle, which uses a motor powered by 4,000 psi of compressed air stored in carbon fiber tanks, will actually start production in India soon – after 15 years in development – thanks to some help from India’s biggest automaker, Tata, which itself just unveiled the world’s least expensive car called the Nano. The MDI Citycat and Minicat are built from lightweight materials and offer large passenger and luggage space with zero emissions motoring. The energy required to refill the compressed air tanks reportedly costs about $2, and there are optional propulsion units to extend the roughly 90-mile (at speeds of 40mph or below) range of the vehicle so you aren’t stuck if your air car runs out of breath.

It’s going to get better with age.  Five years, it’ll have the air compressor onboard to “refuel” the tanks, and I’m expecting more speed… and LARGER cars, of course.

I’m Gonna Buy Me An Air Car

I’m so geeky that this stuff fascinates me.  Alternative energies?  Gimme more!  It’s not about being “green” because I don’t like eco-freaks; they’re irrational and purely emotional.  This is about celebrating innovation.  People using their brains to overcome engineering obstacles.  I’m all in with that.

The air car is the epitome of smart technology.  Once they get that air compressor onboard with the compressed air engine, then it’s perpetual driving without gas stops.  Biofuels mean gas stops.  Hydrogen means gas stops.  AIR CAR MEANS DRIVING!

It’s early, and there are still stops for refuelling the air tanks and/or the gas tank, but soon it’ll be just driving without needing to pay for fuel.  FO’ SHO’!

Aluminum Alloy To Extract Hydrogen From Water

Clean Energy Claim

“The hydrogen is generated on demand, so you
only produce as much as you need when you need it,” [Professor Jerry Woodall] said in a
statement released by Purdue this week.

So
instead of having to fill up at a station, hydrogen would be made
inside vehicles in tanks about the same size as today’s gasoline tanks.
An internal reaction in those tanks would create hydrogen from water
and 350 pounds worth of special pellets.

My great interest in this subject, besides the cool science, is to stop paying for the Jihad.  I may’ve had my ass whupped in school a couple times, but I don’t recall ever being stupid enough to pay someone to kick my ass.

You’re Damn Right I Want An Air Car

The Air Car - theaircar.com

Looks too European, makes my gaydar go off.  I just want that technology in my big honkin’ American fat-ass-mobile.  No, fuck that… I demand it.

I signed up to be notified when they’re available.  You know there’s no way I can squeeze my fat ass into one of these things, BUT I’m all for the concept and want to see it flourish.
